Welcome to the Health Education Resource Exchange (H.E.R.E.) in Washington--an on-line clearinghouse of public health education and health promotion people, projects and resources in the state of Washington. H.E.R.E. in Washington is designed for people who perform population-based health promotion and health education activities in a variety of settings, from state and local health departments to community organizations, clinics, hospitals and schools. Several databases and other resources make up the clearinghouse. It provides colleagues with a way to network, share ideas and program successes, find educational materials, publicize events and training opportunities, and link to other reliable web sites.We strive to provide resources that are accurate, effective and current. Entries in the databases provide contact names, addresses and numbers. If you want more information on projects, educational materials or other resources, please contact the source directly. H.E.R.E. in Washington is a project of the Washington State Department of Health, Office of Health Promotion. It was partially funded by a three-year grant (1995-98) from the National Center for Chronic Disease Prevention and Health Promotion of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. The web site is the product of two statewide needs assessments of public health professionals, guidance by a board of advisors with technical and content expertise, and ongoing research and planning by the staff of the Office of Health Promotion. We encourage comments, suggestions and submissions to the databases. H.E.R.E. in Washington is not intended to diagnose medical conditions, offer medical advice or endorse commercial products.
